My Story

Hi! I am Brooke Musial. I am a photographer in Northern Colorado and the Central New York area. But I LOVE to travel, and I will travel anywhere you want me! Ireland. Iceland. Let’s go!

My love for photography started as a small child. My mom had a Pentax Film camera and would take photos of EVERYTHING! Having literally 1000’s of memories printed on paper around the house growing up made me realize how important freezing time can be. My mother passed away when I was 26. One of the most precious things I have is those memories documented; to be able to look back and share my younger years with my children someday.

My mom handed down her camera to me when I was in high school. I took as many photography and art classes as I could. I would spend my lunches and free periods and after school in the dark room. I would run to the mailbox after school hoping my developed film had arrived. My love for photography grew through the years of high school and into college. I attended college at MVCC and then SUNY Oswego University of New York where I earned a BFA degree in Graphic Design and photography. Through my education and years of experience my passion for photography has grown from a dream to a dream come true. I photographed my first wedding in 2010 and here I am today, in LOVE with my “job”.

My Mission

I believe anyone can take a “picture”, but it takes more than that to capture a real moment with real feelings. Sure, there are times when you want the formal kind of photos, posed, looking, smiling, don’t worry, I won’t leave those out.

I just prefer catching intimate moments that are true to who you are as a person, couple or family. It is an amazing feeling to be able to not only witness a special moment in someone’s life but to be able to capture that moment. If it is a wedding, bringing a new bundle of joy into the world, family portraits, senior portraits or furry friends, they are all times in your life where a huge celebration is in order.

I will most likely be spending a very important day with you, by your side, for however long it takes to get the images that you will cherish for a lifetime. We will talk, I will get real close at times, sometimes too close, I will lay on the ground for you, I will get rained on, walk through mud, climb mountains, get into water, whatever it takes to get the “shot”. I learn a lot about you during your day so here is a bit about me, if you wanted to know more.

Who Am I?

I grew up in upstate New York. Phoenix to be exact, about 15 mins from Syracuse. While I was in college I met the love of my life, Chris, who is now my husband. In 2009, we decided to move to Fort Collins, Colorado, mostly to get away from the snow. People from Colorado laugh when we say this…they don’t know what real winters are like. That lake affect snow.

We bought our first home in 2012 and love it here, have no plans to ever move out of this beautiful state. In 2015 we welcomed our first baby girl into the world and in 2017 we welcomed our second daughter. They are the light of our lives. We also have four fur babies; two dogs and two cats.

We spend our free time traveling, going for walks and bike rides,  watching movies, going out to dinner, and spending time with friends and family. We spend part of our summers in New York so that our daughters will know what it is like to grow up in the area we did.

We enjoy spending time with friends and family in New York, being at Lake Ontario, and visiting some of our favorite spots where we grew up. We have been on many adventures and we look forward to our future ones!
